# Middlesbrough on the brink of huge deal for Premier League winner

**Middlesbrough fans in the bar here at the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting the news that they have been expecting for a while now, and it appears that today may finally be the day.**

Reports from Spanish newspaper, [Super Deporte](https://www.superdeporte.es/valencia/2016/07/18/negredo-holanda-middlesbrough-marbella/303997.html), are claiming that the message coming from the ‘environment’ of Valencia forward is that a deal with Boro can be reached “within hours”.

The 30-year-old, who won the Premier League title during his time at Man City, has [reportedly](https://www.gazettelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/alvaro-negredo-middlesbrough-fc-valencia-11614953) agreed a deal with the Teesside club and now it is just down to the clubs to finalise their side of the move.

According to [Super Deporte](https://www.superdeporte.es/valencia/2016/07/18/negredo-holanda-middlesbrough-marbella/303997.html), the only thing holding the deal back is Valencia’s Sporting Director, Jesús García Pitarch’s, desire to push the price up as high as possible, with a loan move with an option to buy looking the most likely option to bring the forward back to the Premier League.

**Boro fans, we want to hear from you! How desperate are you to see this deal finalised? What can Negredo bring to your side? Let us know below…**
