MLS: Fans are growing impatient of USMNT boss following latest national squad announcement

Rebuilding from the collapse of failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup is a scar that is taking time to heal for the US, yet some supporters are unwilling to remain patient.

With the USMNT set to take part in their inaugural CONCACAF Nations League fixtures this month against Canada and Cuba, the likes of RB Leipzig midfielder Tyler Adams and Ajax right-back Sergino Dest are two players who could have been included in the 26-man squad.
However, manager Gregg Berhalter yet again decided to name an MLS-heavy roster highlighted by the absence of Dest, with The Washington Post reporting that the teenager is set to declare for the Netherlands despite playing twice for America in the previous international break (per Yahoo! Sports).
As expected, plenty of supporters on social media were fuming with not only the absence of Dest but the seemingly favourable inclusion of MLS players.
Here is what some MLS fans had to say on Twitter…
What do you gain from bringing Trapp, Zardes, and Lovitz? You know what they bring. The product is not good enough.

18 mls players?!?!?!! And I love mls. Yikes.

What a mess. #USMNT fans really could have used some good will from Berhalter with a young squad to make up for not having Adams and Dest. Instead, he remains infatuated with Zardes, Trapp, Roldan and Lovitz, while wasting callups on known entities in Bradley and Altidore.

Incredible loyalty shown to guys he called up in his first January camp. Many who aren’t good enough.

“The future is” a roster averaging 25 years of age? A roster of 18 MLS players? Change your slogan or your practices. Disgraceful.

Out of the 26 players selected, 18 of them represent clubs in MLS (per US Soccer), with Christian Pulisic the only player in the entire squad that plays for a club in the UEFA Champions League.
