# Mourinho and Rooney could be in line for Man United battle

**Wayne Rooney is perennially divisive amongst the Red Devils in the Transfer Tavern, with his performances in recent seasons frustrating the Old Trafford frequenters no end.**

Looking lackluster thus far, the England captain is often lambasted amongst the United fans for his dip in performances.

While there remains some support for the 30-year-old at the Theatre of Dreams, reports from Spanish outlet *[Sport](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/inglaterra/rooney-casillas-senala-mourinho-manchester-united-5389282)* claim he and Jose Mourinho are prepared for a war.

And it has those who slag him off cheering Jose’s name.

They [claim](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/inglaterra/rooney-casillas-senala-mourinho-manchester-united-5389282) the self-proclaimed ‘Special One’ is ready to begin a battle with him, in a similar fashion to the situation he had with Iker Casillas at Real Madrid.

The Portuguese dropped the *Los Blancos* legend and shared a huge disagreement with him, one that saw the Madrid legend ultimately leave the club.

It is [claimed](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/inglaterra/rooney-casillas-senala-mourinho-manchester-united-5389282) the former Everton prodigy could be the latest to be embroiled in such treatment, as the 53-year-old looks to take United into a new era.

**Will Rooney be at Man United this time next season? Let us know below…**
