# Mourinho rocked, superb star makes decision on potential move to Man United

**It is well and truly the busiest time of the year here in the Football Transfer Tavern, with transfer rumours flying round left, right and centre!**

The latest news coming into our landlord here in the Tavern is from [Spanish outlet Marca](https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2016/07/21/57908ee4e5fdeac3338b45b8.html), with the publication claiming that Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane has rejectedJose Mourinho’s advances about him joining the Red Devils.

The 23-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most talented centre-backs in the world, and our landlord says that he can go on to become a club legend at the La Liga side.

This rejection will undoubtedly be a harsh blow to Jose Mourinho, who is used to things going the way he wants them to, and the majority of our resident United fans are a little gutted.

Ian, a hardcore Man United fan in the corner of the Tavern had this to say: “Varane is a great, great player, but I have faith in the gaffer that he’ll pull a rabbit out of the bag!”

The Spanish outlet claims offers of up to €40 million were placed for the Frenchman, but ultimately the Lille-born defender has opted to stay at the Spanish outfit, as he looks to progress and mature as a professional footballer.

**Man United fans…. Happy? Gutted? Bothered? Let us know below!**
