# ‘Never been so happy’ – Aston Villa fans loving player update

**Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern have got some smiles back on their faces today and you can understand why.**

It’s been a pretty underwhelming start to the season in the Championship for the Villans with them struggling to score goals and put games away.

Yesterday, though they had no such issues as they cruised past Barnsley 3-0 at Oakwell to rack up an impressive victory away from home.

For sure, there is still work to do for Villa before they can consider things fixed at the club but the signs were certainly positive out on the pitch.

Indeed, striker Jonathan Kodjia is back whilst young star Keinan Davis continued his good start to the season with a goal – something he reflected on on Twitter.

Fans, then, have reacted to that and so here is the best of what has been said:

> Delighted to get my first goal for [@AVFCOfficial](https://twitter.com/AVFCOfficial) , important 3 points also , fans were incredible [#AVFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/AVFC?src=hash) [#GW](https://twitter.com/hashtag/GW?src=hash) [pic.twitter.com/B9XUmxpI4S](https://t.co/B9XUmxpI4S)

> Never been so happy for a first goal. Great battling, won penalty, through ball for Kodj, rough up the defenders… you’ve become 1st team.
