# Newcastle United: Fans hail Allan Saint-Maximin after brilliant performance

**Following Newcastle United’s brilliant 1-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend, fans have taken to social media in absolute awe over Allan Saint-Maximin who put on a potential Man of the Match display for the home crowd.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”252401″\]

The Frenchman was instrumental in securing the victory, proving a real handful for United’s back line in a bright display.

On the day, Saint-Maximin completed four dribbles ([via WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1376040/Live/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Newcastle-United-Manchester-United)), more than anyone else on the pitch, showing the problems he caused Manchester United’s defence.

The 22-year-old bagged [six goals and five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan-saint-maximin/leistungsdaten/spieler/272642/plus/0?saison=2018) in Ligue 1 for Nice last season, and if he can improve those numbers to go with his immense dribbling ability, he could well be a dangerous weapon for Steve Bruce this campaign.

It was a performance worthy of constant applause, and nobody has hailed his match-winning heroics more than the fans themselves.

You can have a look at what they have had to say below:

> Keep him fit and he will be a massive asset for us. Just for causing mayhem for defenders. Get a bit more clinical when it matters and he’ll be amazing

> There’s something about [#nufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/nufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) and French wingers that just works. Ginola, Robert, Ben Arfa and this lad looks like a handful too 🙌🏼👏🏻

> He needs to work on his end product but he will certainly terrify defences this season if he keeps playing like that.
