Newcastle have had a second bid for Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen rejected. After failing with a £50m bid on Monday, the Magpies sent a revised offer worth £55m on Tuesday, which Wolves have now also turned down.
Newcastle has admired Strand Larsen since the player announced himself in the Premier League last season. In his maiden Premier League campaign, he scored 14 goals to help Wolves comfortably beat the drop.
He has had a slow start this term, but did bag a brace against Premier League opposition as Wolves beat West Ham 3-2 to reach the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday night.
After the match, Wolves manager Vitor Pereira admitted “every player has a price,” but it is unknown how much more Newcastle will have to pay to get their man.
Newcastle keen on Strand Larsen

Sky Sports has reported that Strand Larsen is open to a move to Newcastle but is not agitating to leave. While Wolves have so far stood firm, the club is understood to be willing to let Strand Larsen leave for a fee they deem acceptable and provided they can secure a replacement.
Strand Larsen himself would represent a replacement buy for Newcastle, who are actively looking to cover the potential loss of wantaway striker Alexander Isak. Newcastle have been thwarted in moves for Benjamin Sesko, Hugo Ekitike, and Yoane Wissa while their star man Isak continues to push for a move to Liverpool.
Should Newcastle secure one or both of their top targets, they could yet allow Isak to join Liverpool in the dying days of the window. Isak this week held a meeting in his home with Newcastle hierarchy but it is understood that no solution has been reached regarding the player’s future.
As it stands nothing has changed and the player is still agitating for a move away.
