# Everton: Roberto Rojas reveals Miguel Almiron interest

**Reliable journalist Roberto Rojas has revealed that [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) are among a number of clubs who are now ‘interested’ in signing Miguel Almiron this summer.**

### The Lowdown: Out of favour

The 28-year-old has been largely out of favour at Newcastle this season, having played the full 90 minutes on just five occasions in total ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/miguel-almiron/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/272999/plus/0?saison=2021&verein=&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=)).

It is [expected](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/newcastle-united-news/newcastle-united-eddie-howe-pif-nufc-transfer-news-updates/) that the Magpies will bring in a handful of quality signings after their [January spending spree](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/soccer/news/newcastle-january-transfer-window-2022-signings-loans/dby0zokjo9to1bovc7r8irmpi), which may leave fringe players like Almiron out in the cold and likely to be moved on.

### The Latest: Everton interest in Almiron

Taking to [Twitter](https://twitter.com/RobertoRojas97/status/1529047437750452224), Rojas has revealed that Everton are one of four teams who would be ‘interested’ in signing the Paraguay international, should he be made available for transfer.

The reporter stated: *“Sources tell me that Miguel Almiron is highly praised by Eddie Howe & the #NUFC brass but would also like to play a huge part at the club next season.*

*“Everton, Fulham, Sevilla & Napoli are among the clubs interested in the Paraguay international should a transfer be needed.”*

### The Verdict: Sign him

If Newcastle are willing to let Almiron go, then the Toffees could get a good deal for him, especially with only [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/miguel-almiron/profil/spieler/272999) years left on his contract at St James’ Park.

\[freshpress-quiz id=”389207″\]

Once dubbed [‘magnificent’](https://www.premierleague.com/news/2021622) by Magpies legend Alan Shearer, the Paraguay international does possess abundant technical qualities, as demonstrated by his delightful effort against Crystal Palace which [won](https://www.themag.co.uk/2022/05/miguel-almiron-wins-premier-league-goal-of-the-month-award-for-april/) April’s Premier League Goal of the Month award.

He has [ample experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/miguel-almiron/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/272999/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/762) of playing in the Premier League, so he should be able to settle in fairly quickly on Merseyside should he end up making the move to Frank Lampard’s side.
