# Newcastle United: Fans drool over sublime piece of skill from Allan Saint-Maximin

**Allan Saint-Maximin seems to be [emerging](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-arsenal-allan-saint-maximin-16739331) as somewhat of a cult-hero at Newcastle United and this sublime bit of skill shows why he is rated so highly.**

The Magpies bagged [consecutive wins for the first time this campaign](https://www.google.com/search?sxsrf=ACYBGNSVgGaPHwRHL-wOcs7qinsYDg8htA%3A1573561526835&source=hp&ei=tqTKXa-6MMzikgXgnobACA&q=newcastle+united&oq=newcastle+united&gs_l=psy-ab.3..35i39i70i253j35i39j0j0i131l3j0i67j0i131j0i67j0i131.57.3546..3667...2.0..0.221.1905.11j6j1......0....1..gws-wiz.......0i131i67j0i20i263j35i305i39i70i253j35i305i39j0i10.tpMz-FfI1k8&ved=0ahUKEwiv7di-1eTlAhVMsaQKHWCPAYgQ4dUDCAg&uact=5#sie=t;/m/0fvly;2;/m/02_tc;mt;fp;1;;) following impressive back to back victories over West Ham and Bournemouth, with Saint-Maximin starring in each encounter.

The former France U21 international was unlucky not to open his account for the Magpies, finding himself[through on goal twice against West Ham](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4_pyz-0ukc&t=13s) a fortnight ago and [rattling the crossbar](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ckAZUern-U&t=1s) at home to Bournemouth at the weekend – with strikes from DeAndre Yedlin and Ciaran Clark cancelling out Harry Wilson’s early opener.

Despite the statistics[not reinforcing](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/135891/History/Allan-Saint-Maximin) his influence on the pitch, this bit of footage from their bout with the Cherries definitely will, with Saint-Maximin skating past four players whilst driving through centre-midfield.

> You can’t be doing that to defenders! [@asaintmaximin](https://twitter.com/asaintmaximin?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) they have families! [#NUFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/NUFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/xgArdnYEeO](https://t.co/xgArdnYEeO)

Of course, supporters have since hailed the Frenchman’s innovation, simply not being able to believe he dons black and white every weekend, with Saint-Maximin himself actually replying to the post.
