# Newcastle United: Fans hail Miguel Almiron following club post

**Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron finally opened his account for the club last Saturday in their [last-gasp 1-0 victory](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llFbFXpKCaI&feature=onebox) over Crystal Palace, prompting a huge emotional reaction from Magpies supporters across the land – and this [latest club post](https://twitter.com/nufc/status/1209175876396605440?s=21) has given them the opportunity to hail the player even more.**

The Paraguayan, who moved to Tyneside for a [record-breaking fee](https://www.nbcsports.com/video/newcastle-united-sign-mls-star-miguel-almiron-club-record-fee) last January, has had to wait almost a year to get off the mark for Steve Bruce’s side – and his dramatic late winner arguably proved it was worth the wait.

Almiron’s steady improvement has seemingly won over a portion of Newcastle’s fan base with a trip to Manchester United next on the agenda for the Boxing Day kick-offs, and the[club’s post](https://twitter.com/nufc/status/1209175876396605440?s=21) has drawn even more praise for the 25-year-old.

Bruce’s selection for the Old Trafford clash is likely to include Almiron, who also registered his first assist in their [2-2 draw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKzkEkKuGJo&feature=onebox) with Premier League champions Man City back in late November.

Here’s how fans lauded the ace on Twitter.

> Great goal. Enjoy Xmas and here’s to a brilliant 2020 for you and NUFC. Supporters have your back.
