# Newcastle United: Fans loved Allan Saint-Maximin’s gesture following West Ham win

**Allan Saint-Maximin has been [a fan favourite since arriving on Tyneside in the summer](https://www.nufcblog.co.uk/2019/10/07/saint-maximin-at-it-again-on-twitter-brilliant-responses-to-nufc-fans-mocks-man-utd/), proving to be Newcastle’s main source of flair, and now he’s endeared himself even further to the St. James’ Park faithful.**

Saint-Maximin, who [arrived from OSG Nice for around £16.5 million](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49211377), was [widely regarded](https://www.uefa.com/memberassociations/news/newsid=2214712.html) as one of the most promising young talents in France and has been a making name for himself since pledging his future to the Magpies.

Following a [Man of the Match display during their 1-0 home win](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49868087) over Manchester United, the France U21 international seemed in the mood again for their visit to West Ham at the weekend – finding himself [through on goal twice but unluckily failing to capitalise.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4_pyz-0ukc&feature=onebox)

Despite the wasted opportunities in an otherwise impeccable attacking performance, fans have still praised the winger for his efforts, while loving his gesture after the game even more.

The 22-year-old gave his shirt to a couple of travelling supporters, [confirmed by a club official tweet](https://twitter.com/NUFC/status/1190935660284325890), with supporters flocking to praise him for his humility.

> Even though he’s only recently moved to Tyneside, he gets it. Fair play to all involved.
