# Newcastle United: Fans react to Allan Saint-Maximin solo training goal

**Many Newcastle United fans on Twitter have been reacting to a video of the remarkable solo goal scored in training by summer signing Allan Saint-Maximin.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”249737″\]

In the video posted on the player’s Twitter account, Saint-Maximin, who was brought in for [£16.5m from OCG Nice](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49211377), displays the kind of ability that proves why the Magpies invested heavily in the 22-year-old.

The France under-21 international picks up the ball out on the left-wing, turns on the ball and instantly embarks on a direct, diagonal run, skipping past four of the Newcastle backline on his way before burying the ball in the far corner from the right-hand side of the box.

That ability to dribble at such pace towards defenders fearing nothing is one of his [key strengths](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/135891/Show/Allan-Saint-Maximin) and judging by this clip, when he’s fit and raring to go, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t attempt it in a game situation. Indeed, he already has the club’s second-highest dribbles tally (with 1.7 per game via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/23/Show/England-Newcastle-United)) despite his limited involvement in the Premier League this season due to injury.

Lots of fans were loving the clip; here are some of the reactions…
