# Newcastle United: Fans react to Jetro Willem’s birthday message to Allan Saint-Maximin

**Many Magpies have reacted to Newcastle United’s loan signing Jetro Willems wishing Allan Saint-Maximin a happy birthday on Twitter.**

The Netherlands international posted a picture of the two stars together:

Willems was spending the season on loan at St. James’ Park from Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt. The left-back is sidelined with a cruciate ligament rupture and his expected return to action is unknown ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jetro-willems/profil/spieler/146258)).

Despite the setback, the 25-year-old had made 20 appearances for the Magpies this season, scoring 2 goals and providing 3 assists in all competitions. His loan contract is set to expire on June 30th although the board do have the option to buy Willems in the summer ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jetro-willems/profil/spieler/146258)).

Saint-Maximin has quickly become a fan favourite in Tyneside with his popular social media activity and impressive performances on the pitch. The Frenchman has netted 3 goals and provided 4 assists in 21 matches ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/allan-saint-maximin/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/272642)).

As expected a large section of the Toon Army fawned over the two Magpies online with several fans hopeful the defender can make a speedy recovery. One supporter noted “what a partnership these two are.”
