The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's (KSA) Public Investment Fund (PIF) have reportedly made a move to try and sign Mykhaylo Mudryk for Newcastle United.

The Lowdown: Winger wanted

The St. James' Park outfit have been linked with moves for the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Yannick Carrasco in recent days, suggesting that they would like to bring in another winger in the January transfer window.

They are currently in third place in the Premier League table, and seemingly want to bolster their attack in order to keep their hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions league for next season alive.

The Latest: Mudryk move

As per Football Insider, the North East club have 'made a move' for Mudryk, as they prepare to go 'toe-to-toe' with Arsenal for his signature.

They want an 'A-list' attacker who can play out wide, most likely on the left flank, and provide a 'consistent goal threat'.

The Tynesiders have 'made contact' with Shakhtar Donetsk in order to register their interest in Mudryk, and PIF have given the 'green light' to spend in January, with at least one 'box-office' signing 'possible'.

However, they would have to 'smash' their transfer record in order to bring him in.

The Verdict: Worth the money

However much Eddie Howe's side would have to pay for Mudryk in January, he would almost certainly be worth every penny.

Hailed as 'lightning-quick' by CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs, the 'Ukrainian Neymar' as he is nicknamed has been a breakthrough star this season, registering 10 goals and eight assists in 18 games in total over all competitions so far this term, including five goal contributions in the Champions League (Transfermarkt).

At just 21 years of age, Mudryk's potential is truly scary, and the Magpies would certainly be long-term beneficiaries if they signed him in January.
