Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing up a potential move for Everton winger Anthony Gordon again.

The Lowdown: Summer interest

It was reported that Newcastle were interested in signing Gordon in the summer, and even had a bid rejected for him.

A move never materialised in the end, and so there is a possibility that interest could be revived before the end of this month.

The Latest: Another move?

As per The Daily Mail, the St. James' Park outfit are 'ready to revive' their interest in Gordon this month, and are 'considering a fresh move' for him by the time the window shuts.

The Merseyside club need to sell to move for a forward in the market, and also have had enquiries for Gordon from both Spurs and Chelsea.

Gordon was harassed in his own car by Toffees supporters after the 2-1 loss at home to Southampton in the Premier League recently, and so may say yes to a move away in January.

The Verdict: Good opportunity?

With Everton's need to sell, and Gordon's incident with his supporters, the North East club could see his signing this month as a good opportunity.

The Englishman is very quick, as he has recorded the highest top speed of all players in the Premier League so far this season, while Magpies legend Alan Shearer has hailed his 'fearless attitude' when he drives with the ball.

One aspect of his game that Gordon needs to work on is his end product, with just Eddie Howe can coach him up in front of goal in the same way he has done to Miguel Almiron, he could prove to be an astute signing in the future.
