Transfer insider Dean Jones has shared some exciting insight on new Newcastle United signing Garang Kuol.

The Lowdown: Kuol signs

As per the official website of the St. James' Park outfit, highly-rated Kuol will sign in January after agreeing a move to the North East from A-League side Central Coast Mariners.

He attracted interest from a number of high-profile clubs, but opted to sign for the Tynesiders.

The Latest: Kuol insight

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has shared that people who have watched Kuol play believe that he will 'quickly make an impact' in the Premier League, despite being just 18 years of age:

“It definitely seems like they have got their eye on this level of talent at the moment. I haven’t seen him personally, but I have spoken to people who have seen him, and they think he is the sort of player that will quickly make an impact in the Premier League.”

The Verdict: Exciting

It is certainly exciting for the Toon Army to hear how highly-rated Kuol is, and the fact that he could be ready for the top flight straight away, depending on work permit status.

Hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by FC Barcelona manager and footballing legend Xavi after he was called up to an A-League All Stars squad to play the La Liga giants, Kuol was recently called up for the first time by the Australia national team, and could be included in their squad for the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Last season, the striker managed four goals and one assist in ten games in total over all competitions for the Mariners (Transfermarkt), and could prove to be a handy alternative option to the likes of Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson for the second half of the campaign.
