Newcastle: Jake Humphrey provides sarcastic 13-word statement

Television presenter Jake Humphrey gave his take on the current predicament that Newcastle United find themselves in.
Humphrey reacts
Before Sunday’s Premier League matches took place, the Magpies were 17th in the standings with just seven wins and four draws from 23 games (via BBC Sport).
This is despite manager Steve Bruce bringing in the likes of striker Callum Wilson and left-back Jamal Lewis in the summer, spending a total of £34.8m and having spent £65.6m the year before.
Since the English tactician took the reins from Rafa Benitez, he has accumulated a points-per-game average of just 1.22 from 73 games, which is the lowest of his managerial career (TransferMarkt).
Because of this, BT Sport host Humphrey sarcastically commented on Twitter on his thoughts regarding Newcastle’s dire situation that they find themselves, with huge uncertainty surrounding the future of owner Mike Ashley.
It’s clear the main issue here is the unrealistic expectation of the fans. pic.twitter.com/5qzzvIV7EG

Supporters are hugely dissatisfied with the job that Bruce is doing at St James’ Park, with the likes of journalist Neil Custis backing him to the hilt. The response painted a perfect picture in terms of how things currently are on Tyneside.
Transfer Tavern Verdict
The people that have been helping the club for decades, walking through the gates and paying their way to watch their team, will seek some reassurance that they have found someone with some understanding on their part.
We think Newcastle don’t appear to be making any progress under the current regime – which is part of an ongoing stagnation that has been occurring since Kevin Keegan resigned as manager back in 2008.
The sooner that Newcastle can get a takeover over the line, the quicker that the club can move in the right direction.
