Pete Graves has made a couple of rather bold claims about the prospective takeover of Newcastle United after responding to a fan on Twitter when asked about any updates on the proposed deal in the northeast.
Indeed, some of the supporters are becoming exhausted over waiting on whether or not the Premier League will finally approve the bid of Amanda Staveley’s Saudi Arabia-led consortium, providing that all involved on the buying side can pass the owners’ and directors’ tests set out by the English top flight.
Will the Newcastle takeover go through?
As a consequence, Graves has been one of the journalists to whom the supporters have looked for inside information with regards to the takeover bid and the Sky Sports reporter has not failed to disappoint this time around when answering the question.
The journalist replied on Twitter that he is equally as exhausted as the rest of the members of the Toon faithful and admitted that the wait has been “mad tough” on all fans of the Tyneside club. He also said that it has been tough on the club employees who inevitably have no real idea about what their future looks like in these times.
Equally exhausted bud. The wait's been mad tough on all #nufc fans & also on the club employees who've no idea what their future looks like, in these already tough times! I still firmly believe it'll happen and also that it won't be much longer. X https://t.co/pMWV4sDSrF

However, it is his last statement that would surely have grasped the most attention from Newcastle fans alike, as Graves claimed that he still firmly believes that “it’ll happen” and also that the takeover “won’t be much longer'”.
These are rather bold claims considering just how much is currently going on at the moment at St. James’ Park, but nevertheless it may lift the spirits of some disenchanted Magpies supporters.
