Content creator Kendall Rowan couldn't believe Sven Botman's mistake in Newcastle United's dramatic win away to Nottingham Forest on Friday evening.

The Lowdown: Magpies win at Forest

The Magpies faced another crucial Premier League clash at the City Ground, as the top-four battle becomes more intense by the week.

Disaster struck after a promising start when Botman's woeful back-pass was intercepted by Emmanuel Dennis, with the Forest attacker eventually chipping the ball into the net to put the hosts 1-0 up.

Thankfully, Alexander Isak equalised on the stroke of half-time, and the rising star converted from the spot in second-half stoppage time to win the spoils after a bizarre VAR decision had ruled out Elliot Anderson's goal.

The Latest: Botman error slammed

Taking to Twitter, Magpies content creator Rowan didn't hold back in her criticism of Botman, whose mistake was a disastrous moment in the game, despite the eventual result:

"That is absolutely disgusting, rare mistake from Botman."

The Verdict: Rare off day

In truth, it would be harsh to be overly critical of Botman, considering what a huge impact he has made this season, starting 23 league matches for Newcastle.

The 12-cap Netherlands Under-21 international has been a big reason for the Magpies' top-four push, although such mistakes as the one against Forest need to be eradicated moving forward, and he did lose possession ten times in the game, ranking as the worst player in Newcastle's XI.

Botman will be one of Newcastle's most important players in the race for Champions League football and he could be a Player of the Year contender come May, should this act as a one-off below-par outing - even then, it didn't prove to be too fatal.
