Newcastle United: Fans plea for Steve Bruce to start Andy Carroll v Manchester City

Many Newcastle United fans have been pleading for Steve Bruce to start Andy Carroll versus Manchester City in the FA Cup home tie at St. James’ Park after the manager of the Tyneside club was full of praise for his striker having signed a new deal speaking ahead of the crunch game against the tournament’s reigning champions.
Who should start for Newcastle v Manchester City in the FA Cup?
Carroll

Joelinton

Carroll showed how much of an impact he can make in the side by coming off of the bench to make a fine assist for Dwight Gayle to score the Magpies’ opener in their 1-1 home draw at St. James’ Park with Dean Smith’s Aston Villa in the Premier League, earning him a relatively impressive 7.3 overall rating on Sofascore.
That was one of four assists that the 31-year old has made in just 15 appearances in the top flight so far in the 2019/20 season, as he also wins seven duels and averages 1.4 clearances per match, as per the website.
Carroll has proven that he can be effective in both boxes, which may well be needed against City to have any chance of going through in the cup against the current holders.
These NUFC supporters pleaded for the Englishman to start on Twitter:
Without doubt a difference class to joelinton.

100%, he was much better than Joelinton in every aspect of his game

Yep! I would put Carroll and Gayle up top and Saint Maximin in behind them

Tempting surely to put himself about a bit, they won’t like it at all, no real point him coming off the bench for the last half an hour it’ll be game over by then, see if he can do some damage early on with pace behind him
