Many Newcastle United fans have been reacting to a claim on the prospective takeover in the North East from Jason Burt as his latest article for The Daily Telegraph was shared on the Twitter page of NUFC 360.

As per his report, the journalist claims that the proposed deal between Amanda Staveley's Saudi-led consortium and current owner Mike Ashley has been drawn out and it is cruel on the Tyneside club's supporters.

The billionaire Reuben Brothers are also part of the buying side alongside the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF) and will have seen their sporting franchise in Newcastle in action on Monday, but Burt writes about how they must have wished it was not just the racecourse they can say is theirs.

Just six miles separate the finishing post of Gosforth Park and the goalposts at St James’ Park, with the Reubens part of the would-be ownership still waiting to see whether the £300 million bid to buy out Ashley has been approved.

These Magpies reacted to the claim, as some seemed to blame the Premier League for the draw out. It is easy to see why they are fed up as they have certainly been waiting a while, given the first reports of the takeover emerged way back in late-March (Telegraph).
