Newcastle United: Henry Winter reveals what bidders planned to do with Magpies after takeover collapse

Henry Winter has revealed what the bidders of the collapsed takeover of Newcastle United planned to do in the North East should it have been approved by the Premier League.
As per a tweet from The Times journalist, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabian (KSA) group were going to keep Steve Bruce on as the manager of the Tyneside club are were also going to invest heavily in its academy.
Are the Premier League to blame for the Newcastle takeover collapse?
Yes

No

They had also noted how many local talents, like club legends Alan Shearer and Michael Carrick, had started down south, something that they may have looked to upon recruitment for their academy.
Winter also revealed that the issues behind the failed takeover at St. James’ Park included the ongoing TV piracy dispute with other broadcasters, the concern of some clubs in the Premier League over television rights, as well as the exact make-up of the board and whether there would be a Saudi presence.
He added that the problems did not include pressure with human rights.
Bidders who’ve withdrawn frustrated/gutted were going to give Bruce a chance to start with & were going to invest heavily in #nufc academy as they’d noted how many local talents (Shearer, Carrick etc) started down south, something Ashley's eventual successor has to address. 3/3

Nevertheless, perhaps it is interesting to hear that Bruce would have stayed in charge and that the Magpies were apparently going to invest in their academy.
Bruce guided the Toon away from potential relegation and into a rather comfortable 13th place finish, with the added bonus of an FA Cup quarter-final, to which they eventually lost out 2-0 to Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City.
However, the consortium may have wanted to hire their own person for the job, but as Winter has claimed, perhaps Bruce was the right man for them and for NUFC going forward.
Geordies, should Bruce be manager next season? Comment below!
