Craig Hope has delivered what could be a potential boost to Newcastle United on his official Twitter page.
The Daily Mail journalist claimed in a tweet with regards to the Tyneside club: “I’m told they have a 30% sell-on clause for Ivan Toney.”
Some good news for NUFC… I’m told they have a 30% sell-on clause for Ivan Toney, so they should pocket around £3m if he joins Brentford for £10m, as reported. Straight into the striker fund, you’d assume.

Indeed, the former Magpies striker has been strongly linked with a £10 million move away from League One team Peterborough United to EFL Championship play-off final losers Brentford.
And, given that the Toon have a 30 per cent sell-on clause, they would be set to receive a £3 million boost that could possibly go into their own transfer kitty.
Indeed, Steve Bruce may be looking to buy a brand new striker of his own given the sheer lack of goals shared by his centre-forwards in the 2019/2020 term.
Will Newcastle stay up with their current squad?
Between Andy Carroll, Dwight Gayle, Joelinton and Yoshinori Muto in the Premier League in the last season, they only managed to score a mere six goals between them, with both Carroll and Muto drawing blanks, as per Whoscored.
While £3 million would likely not be enough to find the kind of prolific poacher that Bruce wants, it would certainly help toward a transfer fee or paying a player’s wages.
NUFC have apparently been offered the chance to sign Watford club-captain Troy Deeney, but the Hornets man is reportedly on £100,000 per week at Vicarage Road, which may prove to be a stumbling block in the chances of him moving to the North East.
However, £3 million could contribute to deals like that of Deeney, and so perhaps fans will be hoping that the Toney transfer can get over the line as soon as possible.
