Newcastle United have received a very big injury boost on Callum Wilson before their next game at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 4th April.

As per Football Insider, the former AFC Bournemouth ace is reportedly confident that he will be fit to play at St. James' Park against Spurs.

A source in the North East has told the news outlet that Wilson is recovering well and is apparently increasingly upbeat about being ready immediately after the international break ends.

Newcastle need Wilson

It is crystal clear just how important Wilson is to the Tyneside club, with no fewer than 10 goals in the Premier League so far in the 2020/21 term, which is more than double the next highest scorer for the Magpies, while his pretty impressive tally of five assists is also the most out of any player in Steve Bruce's side (Whoscored).

It is no coincidence that the Toon have not won in their last six games in the top flight without the 29-year-old in the side, and NUFC fans will no doubt be desperate for him to return to the pitch as soon as possible.

Nonetheless, it will come as a much welcome boost to supporters that the England international striker is confident that he will return against Jose Mourinho's team in the next match.
