Former Premier League player Dean Windass believes that Steve Bruce will be delighted to have signed Joe Willock this summer.
According to Sky Sports the deal to take Willock to the North-East was £25m, with the 22-year-old putting pen-to-paper on a six-year deal at St James’ Park.
The central midfielder spent the second half of last season on loan at Newcastle from Arsenal and he really impressed as he scored eight goals in 17 games and helped the Magpies to a 12th placed Premier League finish.
Willock also broke a record last season, as he became the youngest player in Premier League history to score in seven consecutive games whilst with Newcastle and Windass believes that manager Steve Bruce will be delighted to have signed him permanently.
“Brucey will be delighted now, Brucey will be delighted that he’s got him,” Windass told Transfer Tavern.
Willock has made three appearances for Newcastle this season so far and was one of two signings that Newcastle made in the summer transfer window, as the Magpies also brought in Santiago Munoz from Santos Laguna on an 18-month loan deal with an option to buy.
After starting the new campaign with back-to-back defeats, Newcastle got their first point on the board against Southampton just before the international break, as they drew 2-2 with the Saints at St James’ Park.
