Newcastle United have put outcasts Henri Saivet, Rolando Aarons and Achraf Lazaar on the transfer list, according to The Chronicle.
Speaking to the outlet, Steve Bruce described Saivet as a “really good pro” but admitted that he would like him to find a new club in the summer transfer window.
Does Saivet, Aarons or Lazaar have a future at Newcastle?
Indeed, the forgotten man has only managed to play in a total of eight games in all competitions at St. James’ Park since the 2015/16 season, as per Transfermarkt.
However, Saivet has not has a bad footballing career thus far, scoring a total of 32 goals for various clubs and for his country Senegal, for whom he has 24 senior caps, while also being part of the Bordeaux squad that won the French Ligue 1 title back in 2008/09 (via Transfermarkt). Nevertheless, it seems as if his immediate future will not be in the northeast.
That could be the same said for Aarons, who again has emerged as a rather forgotten man. Indeed, the 24-year old has only made a total of 27 appearances for the Tyneside club in all competitions since 2014, in which the left winger has scored four goals and provided three assists in the famous black-and-white-striped shirt (per Transfermarkt).
Then there is the third forgotten player in Lazaar, who has only played in 10 games in all competitions for the Magpies and has not made a senior appearance since the 2017/18 season, according to the Transfermarkt.
It may be wise to get all three of these players off the books and off of the wage bill and potentially free up the squad for new additions, as it does not seem that any of them have any kind of future at Newcastle.
