Newcastle United ace Isaac Hayden has hired a new agent as his future at St. James’ Park remains uncertain, with fellow Premier League rivals Crystal Palace and West Ham United keeping tabs on his situation, according to The Chronicle.
As per the outlet, Hayden has less than a year left on his current deal after some on-off talk that he could quit the North East for a move back down south of the country, with the two London-based teams in both the Eagles and the Hammers at the ready to potentially pounce for his signature.
Should Newcastle keep Hayden?
As such, the English U21 international has called upon the help of agent Will Salthouse to assist him with the next step of his footballing career.
It would be a bit of a blow to lose Hayden given how key he has been to the Magpies in recent seasons.
The 25-year old has played in a total of 135 games in all competitions over the last four campaigns, scoring five goals and making a further 10 assists (via Transfermarkt).
35 of those matches came in the 2019/20 term, showing how much of a part Hayden played in their most recent season.
In the Premier League in the last campaign, the central midfield player averaged more tackles, interceptions and dribbles than Jonjo Shelvey, Sean Longstaff and his brother Matty Longstaff (per Whoscored).
Indeed, Hayden has established himself as a key player under Steve Bruce, and the Toon will be looking to sign him up on a new deal as soon as possible before the likes of Palace and West Ham come snooping around.
