Newcastle United have been dealt a transfer blow as Crystal Palace have reportedly held talks to sign Radu Dragusin.
That is according to the Evening Standard, who report that initial talks have been held with the Juventus talent ahead of a pre-contract move to the Eagles in the summer transfer window.
Should Newcastle sign Dragusin?
The St. James’ Park faithful had reportedly made proposals of their own to the Serie A giants to sign Dragusin earlier this month, but it looks as if Roy Hodgson’s team may have jumped ahead of them in the queue.
Dragusin could be a good signing for Newcastle
With the South London club holding initial talks with the Old Lady to sign Dragusin, the Tyneside club really need to step up on their initial proposals if they are serious about securing his signature.
The 19-year-old has already broken into the senior side at such a young age, with four matches under his belt in total in all competitions so far in the 2020/21 season (Transfermarkt).
With a frame of six feet and three inches, the central defender should have no worries coping with the physical demands of the Premier League, and his manager Andrea Pirlo was quoted as saying that the he is ‘physically very strong’ back in December.
However, it looks as if CPFC may beat the Magpies to his signature unless the Newcastle recruitment team act quickly.
