The publication understands that Dike is ‘almost certain’ to be staying in England come the summer window when his loan spell from Orlando City ends.
The USA international has recently won the player of the month (POTM) award for March from the Tykes, and they have an option to sign him on a permanent deal for £17m with a 20% sell-on clause.
Newcastle should sign Dike
Given the sheer number of clubs that are interested in signing him, the Tyneside club need to act fast if they are to secure Dike’s services.
Should Newcastle sign Dike?
The 20-year-old still has a lot of potential and with a six-foot-one-inch frame, he should have no problems whatsoever in coping with the physical demands of the top flight.
Adebayo Akinfenwa, who is vastly experienced forward in English football, claimed in March after losing to Barnsley that Dike has a ‘big future’ ahead of him, and he could well grow into a star in the North East if the Magpies make a move.
