Newcastle United may miss out on Arsenal ace Rob Holding as West Ham United are reportedly preparing a bid in the summer transfer window, according to The Sun.
As per the outlet, the Hammers are willing to offer the Gunners £5 million to take him on loan to the London Stadium for the 2020/21 term.
Does Holding start for Newcastle?
David Moyes is apparently looking for a new central defender and co-owner David Sullivan is allegedly willing to spend the cash needed in order to get one through the door, with Holding thought to be one of the options available to them.
The offer from the East Londom club would cover his wages as well as adding a premium to make it a lucrative offer to the Gooners.
Holding may fit the bill for WHUFC as they can afford him and possibly look to buy him if they stay up at the end of this campaign.
The 24-year old was reportedly close to joining the Magpies on loan last month but it looks as if they will have to up their offer is they are serious about securing his services, coupled up with Mikel Arteta being willing to let him go.
Holding is relatively experienced in the Premier League, having played in 40 games in total over the last five seasons (via Transfermarkt).
Indeed, he would arguably be a viable option for Steve Bruce as he could provide competition for places in his squad, but the Toon may have to better West Ham’s potential bid if they are to get Holding through the door.
