# Wolves: Niall Ennis set to return to Doncaster Rovers on season-long loan

**[Wolverhampton Wanderers](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/wolves/) striker [Niall Ennis](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/niall-ennis/) is set to head back to South Yorkshire to join Doncaster Rovers on another season-long loan, according to reports.**

### Deja Vu for Ennis

The 21-year-old centre forward spent last season at Darren Moore’s side and was [one of their top performers](https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/hes-getting-just-rewards-darren-moore-why-wolves-loanee-niall-ennis-scoring-more-goals-doncaster-rovers-2050093) throughout his first season there.

From [32](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369171/verein/2454) appearances with Donny, Ennis found the net on [six](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369171/verein/2454) occasions and provided [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369171/verein/2454) assists, taking his goal tally at all playing levels to [19](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/369171) and he may have the opportunity to add to that for the foreseeable future.

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/exclusive-wolves-attacker-agrees-terms-of-20-21-transfer/), Ennis has agreed to rejoin Doncaster for the 2020/21 campaign as he continues to focus on his personal development by getting more first-team football under his belt.

The report added that his showings have tempted Moore into taking him back for a second-year, having only made [one](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3151384) appearance for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to date, which was during an FA Cup clash against Shrewsbury Town from the bench back in [2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3151384).

For James Collins’ U23s side, Ennis has been much more prolific, scoring [12](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369171/verein/24226) times from [48](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/niall-ennis/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/369171/verein/24226) appearances, which also could have been a decisive factor in Moore’s decision to take him back.

### Huge opportunity

Ennis is already well on the way to future success in the game and this move will be another big chance for him to put his name in the limelight.

If he keeps his [eye-catching performances](https://www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk/sport/football/niall-ennis-flying-full-backs-devante-coles-rapidly-growing-popularity-plus-other-talking-points-doncaster-rovers-win-over-southend-united-1378528) going, Santo will be given the sort of managerial headache that is welcomed within the game.

Whether he can go on to replicate the form that [Raul Jimenez](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/wolves/wolves-fans-heap-praise-on-raul-jimenez-following-tim-spiers-take/) has shown over the past two years is another question entirely, but it is one that might be asked if he impresses whilst out on loan with Doncaster again.

But for now, Ennis just needs to keep doing what he is doing. His reward of regular football in the Premier League football is not a million miles away.
