Brentford winger Said Benrahma is hoping for a quick move after Aston Villa submitted a transfer offer, according to L’Equipe.
They have reported that Aston Villa have made the Algeria international a transfer priority, with their bid having been €16 million (£14.5 million).
Benrahma started 29 Championship games and came off the bench nine times for Brentford last season, scoring 10 goals and assisting 14 times.
In comparison, Anwar El Ghazi, who played on loan at Villa in the Championship last season before being bought permanently this summer, started 28 games and came on as a substitute six times, scoring six goals and assisting six more.
Benrahma also made double the dribbles El Ghazi executed per game and 1 more key pass each match. Indeed, while the Premier League is obviously a step-up in quality, the former did look like a palpable attacking threat.
The aforementioned statistics indicate that Benrahma would be a better option than El Ghazi moving forward, so would be worth bringing in. While there is the question of squad cohesion with all the new faces, Villa are beginning to build an exciting squad with the additions they have made and the bringing in Benrahma may only add to this.
