As winter transfer windows closes, February is usually much quieter period in terms of media speculation. However, there are some powerful figures in football, who are the centres of talks and rumours regardless of the time of year. The famous Brazilian Neymar Jr. is certainly one of them.

Undoubtedly, his colourful personality is something that will always sell and can be really useful for various purposes. It may give him better personal commercial deals, or work in his favour while negotiating the next professional contract. In any capacity, it will most likely get him constant media interest and put him on top of hot bookmaking prospects, in terms of transfer movements and other aspects. Sports betting in United Kingdom has a long and significant history, so British people have it easier. Things my look a little bit differently in other parts of the globe. For example, there are more and more legal poker sites for players in USA to be enjoyed, and as we understand legal efforts in that department are already advancing the movements in gambling industry in general. Apart from that, is there a possibility here to capitalize on Neymar’s future? Someone with proven information or real gut feeling may indeed fancy a wager. The question is who can really predict what is going to happen to the lad.

Obviously, his sudden breakup of four season relationship with FC Barcelona was shocking enough. So was the price tag on that deal. 222 million euros may feel a little intimidating. Apart from altering the market and increasing general value of future transactions, Paris Saint-Germain’s move raised some controversies and almost immediate questions about Brazilian’s career. You cannot deny the talented youngster his skills and abilities to score or assist. He surely shines in his new club for the time being, but who knows what the future will bring. Will PSG be able to give him everything he wants? Money should not be a problem for them, but will they finally make their mark in Europe and bring home UEFA Champions League title? They have resources and strong will to achieve that, but there’s no guarantee. The fact is that Neymar’s hunger for goals and trophies, whether it is a result of true ambition or something more egocentric (infamous dispute over penalties with Edinson Cavani), remains for the moment very much unsatisfied.

Those and more reasons are what puts in motion all kind of rumours. The most significant ones concern potential transfer to Real Madrid. Neymar is supposed to be on the Spanish team’s radar for a long time, and is considered as a primary interest for summer window. However, something similar can be said about number of prospects in great striker department (Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski, Mauricio Icardi?). It seems inevitable that poorly performing Los Blancos will be looking to obtain significant reinforcements, despite Zinedine Zidane’s indefeasible belief in his players. If Neymar is truly the one they have their eyes on, the fee of that deal would have to be enormous. Either way, we have a thrilling second half of the season to be looking forward to, and potentially spectacular transfer window after that.
