Chelsea manager Frank Lampard is looking to sell both Danny Drinkwater and Tiemoue Bakayoko before the deadline passes this week.
Both players were left out of the Blues’ final friendly, and according to the Telegraph, the club are willing to listen to offers for the pair as Lampard looks to recoup some funds back into the club.
Drinkwater has failed to reproduce the sort of form which saw him shoot to prominence as part of the Leicester City winning title team three seasons ago, while Bakayoko has been a complete flop at Stamford Bridge since sealing a mega-money move from Monaco.
Bakayoko spent last season out on loan in Italy with AC Milan, where he played 33 times but woefully managed only a single goal and assist across the entire season.
Drinkwater, on the other hand, remained a part of the Chelsea squad, but struggled for any sort of game time under Mauro Sarri, and he will be looking for a move to a club where he can get back to the sort of form he showed at Leicester, which saw him average an impressive three tackles a game during their title-winning campaign.
Lampard is set to give younger players a chance this season it would seem, with the likes of Mason Mount jumping ahead of the likes of Drinkwater and Bakayoko in the pecking order.
This does not come as a surprise at all and Chelsea will do well to get some good money in the coffers for the pair.
Drinkwater can easily do a job in the Premier League for a number of clubs, but Bakayoko is a different story, with the former Monaco man struggling to adapt to life in England it seems.
However, both players went for big money, so there is obviously some talent in there, and Chelsea should have no problem finding suitors.
