Leeds United: Fans give mixed opinions on whether they would like to sign Gary Hooper

Leeds United have made a solid start to the 2019/20 Championship season and after 11 games they sit in fifth place, just two behind leaders West Brom.
Eddie Nketiah or Patrick Bamford?

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been outstanding defensively, and have conceded the least amount of goals in the league to date (7).
However, the one thing that is letting them down is the number of goals they are scoring. Indeed with just 15 so far, they are the joint lowest goalscorers in the top 10 along with Charlton Athletic.
Striker Patrick Bamford has now failed to score in his last six appearances for the Whites, whilst Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t seem to fancy Eddie Nketiah as he is yet to start the Arsenal loanee in a Championship game.
Prior to their fixture against Millwall, stats showed that Leeds had created more goalscoring opportunities than any other club in the Championship and also had taken more shots than anybody else (via LeedsLive). That highlights their lack of a clinical edge in front of goal as they haven’t converted many of those chances.
One Leeds fan account posted on Twitter recently, suggesting a potential solution to their goalscoring woes. Gary Hooper is a free agent after leaving Sheffield Wednesday in the summer, and the tweet questioned whether he would be worth signing up.
The 31-year-old has a decent record in the Championship, scoring 61 times in 166 appearances at that level (via Transfermarkt).
A few Leeds fans admitted that they would take the former Celtic man on a free, but some were a little more sceptical about the idea…
Yeah, but it won’t happen, plus it would take forever for him to get ‘Bielsa fit’.
For the wages he’d want, it’d end up being a pointless move.
But under a different manager, who’d just chuck him in when fit, then yeah deffo I’d want him.

Four years ago, 100%, found the net at Wednesday then, he wouldn’t suit our philosophy now.

Very over rated player that’s been past him prime for a long time
