Manchester United have snubbed Real Madrid star Gareth Bale, according to journalist Diego Torres Romano.
It is being claimed by the journalist that Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett offered the Welshman to Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Manchester United.
However, the three clubs had a worry about the star’s current situation and reasons over not moving for the Wales international.
The first was a worry of why Real Madrid had offered him a staggering £600,000 per week, when he signed a new contract back in 2016.
And the second is the reason they don’t want to sign the star, which is due to holding no interest and unwilling to pay 40% of his wages.
Alexis Sanchez was signed on wages reported to be upwards of £400,000 a week, however, has failed since failed to justify the high wages and was labelled as ‘the worst transfer of all time’ by pundit Gary Neville. So, while the Welshman is clearly on rather large wages himself, it’s hard to argue he’s any worse than the aforementioned Chilean.
Despite his strenuous relationship with Zinedine Zidane, Bale hasn’t been short of form as he scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 42 games in all competitions last season. Interestingly, this is a better record in terms of contributions than the likes of Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial, Juan Mata and Sanchez himself were able to record last season.
Bale would be a good move for Manchester United. Whatever is being made of the Wales international’s attitude in Spain, England may be a far different prospect as the 30-year-old would not need to adjust to a new lifestyle having already played for Tottenham.
Bale’s goal contributions in comparison to the club’s other wingers and the fact the club may only have to pay him £240,000 a week mean the club should definitely sign Bale.
