Inter Milan are to table their best offer possible in an attempt to secure Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

News emerged at the weekend that both clubs were prepared to sit down and discuss ‘face-to-face’ the possibility of Romelu Lukaku completing his Old Trafford exit, as per Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

It is said that the objective of the meeting is ‘closure’ - presumably to ensure what could be a lengthy and arduous process comes to an end as soon as possible thus allowing the two sides to prepare for their respective campaigns properly.

Gazzetta dello Sport go on to suggest that, within the week, Inter Milan and Beppe Marotta will ‘blitz’ the market and present Manchester United with an offer they hope will convince the Reds to release Lukaku.

The Belgian forward said that a move to Serie A would be a dream to Sky Italia back in April and did appear to lose his starting spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer towards the end of last season, with Marcus Rashford largely operating as the central striker.

Harbouring players who have no desire to stay at the club would be a poor move on United’s part. Even if it means lowering their reported £75million asking price so Inter Milan have the means to pay.

Rumours have already surfaced that Solskjaer is chasing Sevilla's Wissam Ben Yedder, who scored 18 goals in 31 La Liga appearances last season, with Spanish outlet La Colina de Nervion going as far to say that the club have already agreed personal terms on the switch.
