The transfer window is a time of hypothetical turbulence, stories continuously and violently spiralling between verging on completion and total collapse. Christian Eriksen’s Real Madrid saga certainly epitomises this notion, his story swinging more than a prime Jimmy Anderson.
Tottenham may be one step closer to a resolution, however, with the Dane instructing his agent to nod the head to any potential deal on the cards, according to El Desmarque.
The link between the playmaker and the European giants began last season in a period where his effort and consequently performance appeared to have taken a hit.
It later emerged that Paul Pogba was his prime target, leaving the Dane in a limbo-like situation (per The Telegraph). However, the latest news brings us again back to square one.
However, it may come as reassurance to Tottenham fans that there may now be some movement in this transfer. Tottenham have already bid £53m for Giovani Lo Celso and have expressed interest in a possible loan-deal for Dani Ceballos. Clearly the search for a replacement is on, with Sky Sports reporting only sales will now fund any potential transfers after £63m was spent on Tanguy Ndombele.
The worst scenario for Tottenham would arguably be a last-minute move that allows no time for a replacement. Any news now, therefore, is good news.
