# Norwich City: Defensive midfielder out for six weeks with ankle ligament injury

**Norwich City midfielder Tom Trybull is out for six weeks after suffering an ankle ligament injury in the 2-0 defeat to West Ham United last Saturday [(via Norwich City)](https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/september/injury-update-timm-klose-christoph-zimmermann-and-tom-trybull/).**

The midfielder completed the full 90 minutes last Sunday, however, posted a picture of himself in a protective boot before swiftly deleting the post [off of social media.](https://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/new-injury-blow-for-norwich-city-1-6251691)

Trybull is one of three players who have been out or could be facing spells on the sideline. [Timm Klose](https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/september/injury-update-timm-klose-christoph-zimmermann-and-tom-trybull/) is out for a lengthy spell after suffering a knee injury in the 1-0 loss to Crawley Town, while [Christoph Zimmermann](https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/september/injury-update-timm-klose-christoph-zimmermann-and-tom-trybull/) is being assessed after injuring himself in the loss against West Ham.

[Daniel Farke](https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/september/injury-update-timm-klose-christoph-zimmermann-and-tom-trybull/) commented on the blow of the three injuries, saying it’s one of the challenges they have to face right now.

Trybull’s injury leaves the Canaries a little light in the defensive midfield department. Summer signing Ibrahim Amadou and the injured Alex Tettey remain as the club’s only out-and-out defensive midfielders [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/norwich-city/kader/verein/1123).

The German midfielder has been a monster for Farke’s side in the Premier League so far with his defensive contribution. The 26-year-old has made the most tackles, joint-second most interceptions, and the third-most clearances for the Norfolk side ([via WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/168/Show/England-Norwich)).
