# Nottingham Forest: Reds’ offer for Aster Vranckx revealed

**[Nottingham Forest](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/) have made an offer to sign VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Aster Vranckx this summer, report [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transferts-lille-surveille-aster-vranckx-wolfsburg/1348266) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/bundesliga-man-received-offer-nottingham-forest-director-sent-clear-message-player/)).**

### The lowdown: Rise to prominence

[Signed](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aster-vranckx/transfers/spieler/503881) from Belgian outfit KV Mechelen in 2021, Vranckx has gone from strength to strength since arriving in Germany, having made [47 first-team appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aster-vranckx/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/503881) for his previous employers, where he came through the academy system.

The 19-year-old Belgium youth international made [28 outings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aster-vranckx/leistungsdaten/spieler/503881/plus/0?saison=2021) last season for the Bundesliga side, scoring twice whilst operating centrally and in wide areas to showcase impressive versatility.

Having previously been [linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/nottingham-forest-reds-linked-with-aster-vranckx-move-transfer-cooper-premier-league/) to Vranckx, a fresh report emerging from France has claimed that Forest did more than just show their interest…

### The latest: Offer made

As per [L’Equipe](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Transferts-lille-surveille-aster-vranckx-wolfsburg/1348266), translated by [SW](https://sportwitness.co.uk/bundesliga-man-received-offer-nottingham-forest-director-sent-clear-message-player/), the [three-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aster-vranckx/nationalmannschaft/spieler/503881/verein_id/9315) Under 21 starlet is understood to have ‘received offers’ from Nottingham Forest, Fiorentina and Bologna this summer.

It’s claimed that Lille are also attentive to the situation surrounding Vranckx and a move could still be on the cards before the end of the transfer window.

The report makes no mention of the details of the offer for the youngster – who was billed as a [‘very exciting’](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout/status/1478481306497519617) prospect by football talent scout Jacek Kulig – but previous [reports](https://www.teamtalk.com/everton/aster-vranckx-toffees-among-clubs-closely-following-cost-heavy-fee-wolfsburg) have claimed that he could be available for around €8million (£6.7million).

### The lowdown: Try again

Albeit the midfield department has already been strengthened with the [signings](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nottingham-forest/transfers/verein/703) of Lewis O’Brien, Orel Mangala and Cheikhou Kouyate, adding a supremely talented and versatile operator such as Vranckx to Steve Cooper’s ranks would be a significant capture.

Sharing a similar stylistic likeness to proven Premier League performers such as Conor Gallagher, Joelinton and Jeffrey Schlupp ([FBref](https://fbref.com/en/players/f86cd5df/Aster-Vranckx)), the teenage Belgian seemingly has all the [attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/399957/Show/Aster-Vranckx) required to make the grade in the English top flight.

Earning a reported [£15,000 per week](https://salarysport.com/football/player/aster-vranckx/), signing Vranckx at the aforementioned asking price should be an affordable venture for the City Ground hierarchy and Dane Murphy even alongside the rumoured move for [Neal Maupay.](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/nottingham-forest-neal-maupay-brighton-latest-transfer-news-rumours-updates/)
