# Nottingham Forest: Josh Bowler bid rejected

**[Nottingham Forest](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/) have reportedly made an offer to sign Blackpool midfielder Josh Bowler.**

### The lowdown: Long-term target

The Reds were [initially linked](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/nottingham-forest-premier-league-josh-bowler-transfer-news-updates/) with a move for Bowler earlier in the window but have since prioritised and indeed signed alternative options.

The 23-year-old Englishman, who came through the ranks at QPR prior to [spells](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-bowler/transfers/spieler/506470) at Everton and Hull City, currently remains in situ at the Championship outfit.

Now it appears as though Forest have made a last-ditch attempt to get a deal over the line and bring Bowler to the City Ground…

### The latest: Offer made

As per [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/nottingham-forest-launch-bid-blackpool-josh-bowler), Nottingham Forest are believed to have made a bid worth ‘around’ £3million for the versatile ace.

It’s claimed that Bowler has ‘been a target for Steve Cooper since January’ as Bournemouth, Fulham and Blackburn Rovers also share an interest.

Journalist [Pete O’Rourke](https://twitter.com/SportsPeteO/status/1564947994973278211?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet) has since revealed that the bid for the man hailed as [‘magic’](https://tbrfootball.com/david-unsworth-raves-about-magic-josh-bowler-but-can-he-make-first-team-cut-at-everton/) by ex-Everton under-23 manager David Unsworth has been rejected.

### The verdict: Get it done

With deals for [Serge Aurier](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/nottingham-forest-premier-league-serge-aurier-transfer-news-updates/) and [Willy Boly](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-transfer-rumours/nottingham-forest-willy-boly-serge-aurier-transfer-gossip-news-updates/) seemingly nearing completion, Bowler could become the [21st signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nottingham-forest/transfers/verein/703) of what has been a chaotic summer of arrivals in the Midlands.

So far this term, the [£1.8million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-bowler/marktwertverlauf/spieler/506470) starlet has [scored twice](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-bowler/leistungsdaten/spieler/506470) in six appearances for Blackpool, earning a superb 7.03 [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/bowler-josh/879800) rating whilst winning 5.2 duels, successfully completing 3.0 dribbles and taking 4.0 shots on average per outing in the process.

Capable of [playing on either wing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-bowler/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/506470) and in central positions, Bowler would be an excellent addition to Cooper’s options and having entered the [final year](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-bowler/profil/spieler/506470) of a contract, should be attainable at a relatively low fee despite the initial rejection.
