Transfer insider Dean Jones has claimed that Nottingham Forest will go 'big' for their next manager if Steve Cooper is sacked.

The Lowdown: On the brink?

It has been reported that Forest are starting to look at alternative managers to Cooper after their poor start to the season.

They are currently lingering in the relegation zone in 19th place in the Premier League table, with just four points from their opening seven games.

The Latest: Forest would go 'big'

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones has claimed that the Reds will go 'big' for their next boss if they end up sacking Cooper:

“If they change manager, then I’ve heard they are going big.”

The Verdict: Patience needed

Even though they have made a poor start to the campaign, patience is still needed at the City Ground with Cooper.

After all, he did win them promotion up to the Premier League in the first place, and so expectations should not be too high in their first term back.

They have brought in as many as 23 new players since the start of the summer as well, and they all still need time to gel together while Cooper himself can figure out who makes up his best XI.

Nonetheless, the squad will have had time to recharge their batteries during the international break, and so should be raring to go once the league campaign resumes.
