Nottingham Forest agree €22 million deal for exciting Juventus duo

Nottingham Forest agree €22 million deal for exciting Juventus duo - Nottingham Forest News

Nottingham Forest are closing in on signing young Juventus duo Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula for €22 million according to ESPN. Forest has reached an agreement with Juventus for both players, but are now in discussions with the players’ representatives over personal terms.

Salary and length of contract will need to be agreed with both players before finalizing the deal.

Both players have been included in the Juventus squad for the Club World Cup and are set to face Manchester City on Thursday. Juventus is already through to the round of 16 having defeated Wydad AC and Al Ain in their first two matches.

25 year old Weah is a United States international and was ruled out of this summer’s Gold Cup for his country due to his participation in the Club World Cup. He has 44 appearances for USA.

21 year old Mbangula is a Belgium U21 international but was called into the senior squad for UEFA Nations League matches against Italy and Isreal in November of 2024.

Forest closing in on Weah and Mbangula

The young pair have been two of Serie A’s most exciting prospects. They started together and scored in Juve’s opening game of last season, a 3-0 win over Como.

It was Mbangula’s first team debut, having been promoted from Juventus Next Gen last summer. He was nominated man of the match for his performance and put the league on notice.

He would go on to make 23 Serie appearances, scoring twice more and providing three assists. Weah scored five goals and provided two assists in 30 Serie A appearances.

Both are lighting fast wingers, with Weah playing on the right and Mbangula playing on the left. Forest look to well be stocked in the wide areas if they are to complete this deal.

They already boast Callum Hudson-Odoi and Anthony Elanga in their ranks and look to be adding even more firepower.

In addition to the potential signings of Weah and Mbangula, ESPN adds that Forest are also pursuing a striker in the summer window. Chris Wood bagged an impressive 20 Premier League goals last season, but at 33 his long term future is uncertain.
