Nottingham Forest striker Lyle Taylor is likely to leave the club during the January transfer window, according to a new update that has emerged.

The Lowdown: Taylor out of favour

The 32-year-old found himself surplus to requirements at the City Ground during the summer, as the Reds brought in a total of 22 new players.

Taylor was loaned out to Championship side Birmingham City back in January but that hasn't been the case in 2022/23, with not a single of minute of action coming his way.

It looks as though he will be departing soon, though, following a new update.

The Latest: January exit expected

According to Football League World, Taylor is wanted by a host of clubs in January, with Birmingham, Luton Town, Millwall and MLS clubs all interested in signing him.

He is 'anxious' to earn more regular playing time and realises that it won't come his way at Forest.

The Verdict: Time to leave permanently

This makes complete sense for all parties, with Taylor clearly not someone that Cooper remotely sees as a key player moving forward, despite scoring 155 goals in his career.

For that reason, it would be nice to see the veteran striker seal a permanent move elsewhere in January, allowing him to be more settled and enjoy the autumn of his playing days.

His current Forest deal expires at the end of this season, so January would also be the last chance for the Reds to receive a transfer fee for his services.
