Nottingham Forest have held discussions with Emmanuel Dennis' agent over a move to become their next signing after Orel Mangala, according to a fresh transfer claim.

The Lowdown: Forest linked with Dennis move

The Reds have been linked with a move for the Watford striker in recent days, as he looks to stay put in the Premier League after Watford's relegation.

Dennis scored ten goals in 30 league starts for the struggling Hornets last season, also registering six assists, and he was hailed as 'one of the signings of the season' by journalist Josh Bunting for that incredible form.

A new update has now emerged that is both positive and negative from a Forest perspective.

The Latest: Fresh update emerges

According to The Express, all the clubs keen on signing Dennis have balked at his £20million price tag, putting any potential move into doubt.

That being said, Forest are mentioned as having had conversations with the player's agent, Drew Uyi, as have West Ham, Southampton and Everton.

The Hammers and Saints are not believed to see him as a primary target, though, acting as a boost for Steve Cooper and Co.

The Verdict: Potential strong addition

Dennis is certainly someone who could come in and make Forest a more potent attacking this season, with Taiwo Awoniyi already an exciting acquisition in that area.

The 24-year-old has already shown that he can thrive in the Premier League, enjoying an impressive goalscoring tally in a team where he wasn't receiving much service, and he could excel even more in a Forest team that is naturally more attack-minded than Watford.

Dennis' price tag is steep, though, and Cooper may find it hard to justify such a big amount for him, meaning the move should only go through if a lesser fee is agreed.
