Nottingham Forest attacker Emmanuel Dennis is facing the 'axe' just five months after arriving at the club, according to reliable journalist John Percy.

The Lowdown: Dennis struggling at Forest

The 25-year-old completed a £15million move to the City Ground from Watford last summer, coming in as one of the 22 signings made by Steve Cooper.

Dennis has flattered to deceive in a Forest shirt ever since arriving, however, making just three starts in the Premier League and scoring only once in a total of ten outings in the competition.

Now, the Nigerian looks set for a potential exit, following a significant update.

The Latest: January exit likely

Taking to Twitter, The Telegraph's Percy claimed that Forest are looking to offload Dennis already:

"Excl: Emmanuel Dennis facing Nottingham Forest axe five months after £15m move from Watford. #nffc looking to offload Dennis to a club abroad to make room in the 25-man squad."

The Verdict: Hit-and-miss summer business

Dennis has been a big disappointment, considering the money he cost after his impressive displays at Watford, and he rather sums up the hit-and-miss nature of Forest's summer business.

So many players came in that it was always going to be difficult to keep them all happy and the former Hornets striker has struggled to find the rhythm that he did last season.

A January exit seems to be the best option for all parties, and if Forest can recoup most of the money they paid for Dennis, they should consider it a failed transfer that can be forgotten about in a hurry.
