Nottingham Forest are reportedly interested in making a move for AC Milan defender Fode Ballo-Toure in the summer transfer window.
The Lowdown: Defender incoming at Forest?
The Reds have made endless new signings so far this summer, with Steve Cooper strengthening his squad options throughout the team.
Defence is still an area that could be improved, however, especially with new arrivals Moussa Niakhate and Omar Richards expected to be sidelined for a lengthy period through injury.
A new update suggests that the Reds are looking at a Serie A raid.
The Latest: Reds contact Ballo-Toure
“Info: AC Milan want to keep Fode Ballo-Toure but the player wants to leave to take playing time for the World Cup. Nice and Nottingham Forest discuss with the entourage. Milan want €5m.”
The Verdict: Proven top-level pedigree
Ballo-Toure could be a really shrewd signing by Forest this summer, possessing great experience and making ten Serie A appearances for Milan last season as they clinched title glory.
Would Pinamonti be a good signing for Forest?
The 25-year-old averaged 1.8 tackles per game in those matches, as well as an 89.6% pass completion rate, suggesting his tenacity and quality could be ideal for Cooper’s style of play.
Ballo-Toure’s current Milan deal doesn’t expire until 2025, however, so Forest may not find it easy to prise him away, but competition for Harry Toffolo in the absence of Richards is required.
