Nottingham Forest boss Steve Cooper has pledged his future to the club after being linked with leaving, with journalist Sarah Clapson sharing the comments on Twitter.
The Lowdown: Cooper linked with Brighton job
The Welshman has been a transformative figure at the City Ground, taking charge when Forest were bottom of the Championship last September before guiding them back into the Premier League.
Cooper’s brilliance has been recognised in recent weeks after Graham Potter left Brighton for Chelsea, with the Reds boss linked with moving to the Amex Stadium.
It looks as though he is very much focusing on Forest, however, following a key update.
The Latest: Journalist confirms update
“Everyone who knows me knows what working for Nottingham Forest means to me and how important it is, especially after losing a couple of games. It matters more to me.”
The Verdict: Huge for Forest
Potter leaving Brighton has the potential to completely derail their season, given his influence there, and that is exactly the same with Cooper at Forest.
Would Pinamonti be a good signing for Forest?
Seeing him depart so early to life back in the Premier League, when a relegation battle looks likely, would feel crushing after such a memorable year or so in charge.
Thankfully, Cooper has shown his loyalty and love for Forest and the hope is that this is still very much the start of his time in charge, rather than the beginning of the end.
