Nottingham Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White ‘deal not dead’

Nottingham Forest: Morgan Gibbs-White 'deal not dead' - Nottingham Forest News

Nottingham Forest have had another bid for Morgan Gibbs-White rejected by Wolves but a deal is still alive, according to reliable journalist David Ornstein.

The Lowdown: Gibbs-White wanted by Forest

The midfielder has been linked with a move to the City Ground a number of times in recent weeks, following the Reds’ return to the Premier League.

As of yet, Wolves haven’t accepted an offer for Gibbs-White, who shone on loan at Sheffield United last season and is now ready to go up another gear in a top flight side.

Now, a fresh update has emerged, suggesting we could yet see another offer after one totalling £35m was turned down.

The Latest: Ornstein provides key update

Taking to Twitter, The Athletic‘s Ornstein confirmed that a final bid for Gibbs-White had been rejected but offered Forest hope at the same time:

“Nottingham Forest bid for Morgan Gibbs-White £25m+10m. #NFFC said final offer & #WWFC rejected but deal not dead. Club told he won’t even discuss new contract (2024). If replacement found, move may still happen.”

question mark

Which one of these kit manunfactuers have never produced Forest shirts?

The Verdict: Keep working on it

While another bid being knocked back is clearly no good thing for Forest, Ornstein’s words do suggest that there is still definite life in the potential club record transfer.

Would Pinamonti be a good signing for Forest?

Forest are clearly desperate to get their man and the player himself has rejected a new deal at Wolves, so it could be pointless for them to keep an unhappy individual around.

With that in mind, the hope is that Wanderers eventually cave, accepting a Reds offer and allowing Gibbs-White to move onto the next stage of his career.
