# Nottingham Forest: Reds named as Yusuf Yazici suitors

**[Nottingham Forest](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/) are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Lille midfielder Yusuf Yazici, according to French outlet [La Voix Du Nord](https://www.lavoixdunord.fr/1212416/article/2022-08-01/mercato-losc-l-effectif-pourrait-encore-beaucoup-bouger) (via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/france-fulham-nottingham-forest-interested-ligue-1-player/)).**

### The lowdown: Busy summer

The Reds have already added a whopping 12 fresh faces to Steve Cooper’s squad following promotion back to the Premier League, shelling out [£85.28million](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nottingham-forest/transfers/verein/703) from the coffers in the process.

Still linked to other potential targets such as [Omar Marmoush](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/nottingham-forest-news/nottingham-forest-omar-marmoush-junior-dina-ebimbe-transfer-gossip-news-updates/), [James McAtee](https://www.nottinghampost.com/sport/football/transfer-news/man-city-transfer-nottingham-forest-7409617) and [Maxwel Cornet](https://www.footballfancast.com/nottingham-forest-transfer-rumours/nottingham-forest-maxwel-cornet-steve-cooper-premier-league-transfer-news-latest-update-nffc-the-reds), there could yet be further incomings at the City Ground before the September 1 deadline.

Now, another name is seemingly on the radar at Forest as CEO Dane Murphy continues an attempt to suitably bolster the ranks…

### The latest: Reds cited for Yazici

As per [La Voix Du Nord](https://www.lavoixdunord.fr/1212416/article/2022-08-01/mercato-losc-l-effectif-pourrait-encore-beaucoup-bouger), translated by [SW](https://sportwitness.co.uk/france-fulham-nottingham-forest-interested-ligue-1-player/), Nottingham Forest and fellow newly promoted side Fulham are both keen on signing Yazici this summer.

It’s claimed that [39-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yusuf-yazici/nationalmannschaft/spieler/386726/verein_id/3381) Turkey international is ‘of interest’ to the top flight new boys and a move away from Lille is ‘possible’ due to his current role as an understudy.

The report also states that Yazici – who was described as [‘absolute class’](https://twitter.com/mahithgamage/status/1330615507087728647) by football analyst Mahith Gamage – could look to move on ‘depending on the playing time offered to him’ in France

### The verdict: Go for it

Despite the wave of new arrivals into Cooper’s ranks, there remains [sufficient room](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/nottingham-forest/kader/verein/703) for at least one more midfield option, particularly a more creative operator, with Yazici praised for his [versatility and technical quality](https://twitter.com/mahithgamage/status/1330615507087728647).

Signed from boyhood club Trabzonspor for £15.75million in 2019 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yusuf-yazici/transfers/spieler/386726)), Yazici has been a high-quality operator for some time now, directly contributing to [79 goals in 201 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yusuf-yazici/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/386726) during his career to date.

Last season, the 25-year-old attacking midfielder [scored nine times and provided three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/yusuf-yazici/leistungsdaten/spieler/386726/plus/0?saison=2021) in 34 outings across all competitions, including a loan spell at CSKA Moscow, earning a remarkable 7.53 [Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/yusuf-yazici/827804) rating whilst completing 1.3 key passes and taking 3.0 shots on average per game in the Russian Primeira Liga.

Currently earning £16,000 per week ([Salary Sport](https://salarysport.com/football/player/yusuf-yaz%C4%B1c%C4%B1/)), Yazici would be an affordable addition to the Forest squad and one the hierarchy should be pushing to make happen given the Turkish ace’s calibre.
